North Carolina FC is pleased to welcome another veteran of the USL Championship to the fold in center back Paco Craig. North Carolina FC acquired Craig via transfer from Miami FC.
Two-time Champion
Craig has twice reached the mountain top in the USL, claiming league titles with Louisville FC in 2017 and 2018. At 24 years old, he played in 21 matches and logged nearly 1,800 minutes to lead Louisville to their first USL Cup. The following year he would appear in 32 matches and log 2,784 minutes with 66 interceptions and 46 tackles won to help Louisville repeat as champions.
Fun in the Sun
Craig finished up with Louisville after the 2019 season and returned to England where he signed a one-month contract, which expired during the COVID-19 Pandemic, with Wycombe Wanderers. He returned to the United States in 2021, joining Miami FC in January. He appeared in 90 matches across three seasons with 11 total goal contributions.
Welcome to the Club
Paco Craig has made a name for himself in the soccer world, but his surname precedes him. Paco is the son of Mikey Craig, bassist for the pop/soul/new wave group Culture Club. Famous for hits such as “Karma Chameleon”, “I’ll Tumble 4 Ya”, “Time (Clock of the Heart)”, and countless others, Culture Club is considered one of the most representative and influential groups of the 1980s.
