Garrett McLaughlin Named to USL League One Team of the Week

CARY, NC (June 20, 2022) — North Carolina FC forward Garrett McLaughlin has been named to the USL League One Team of the Week for Week 12. The honor marks the third time this season for McLaughlin, having also previously been named USL League One Player of the Week in Week 9.

McLaughlin recorded a goal and an assist in NCFC’s most recent outing, a 2-0 win over the Charlotte Independence. The assist came on teammate Nicolas Molina’s first goal of the season, while his own goal was scored on a penalty kick attempt that was the result of a bad Charlotte foul on Oalex Anderson. McLaughlin’s tally was his seventh of the season, the most in the league thus far, and two goals ahead of the next highest count.
