Cary, N.C. (August 24, 2021) – Youth standout Aziel Jackson will join North Carolina FC on loan from Minnesota United FC pending league and federation approval, the club announced today.
Jackson joined the New York Red Bulls Academy at only 13 years old, and at age 16, the young midfielder moved to France to pursue a playing career with FC Toulouse’s U19 team, where he spent two seasons and made eight appearances for the club. Upon his return to the United States, Jackson joined amateur squad Crossfire FC, making 14 appearances, all of which were starts, scoring four goals and assisting another four.
In 2020, Jackson trained with the Seattle Sounders before joining Minnesota United at their training camp this year, with whom he signed a two-year contract.
“We’re excited to add Aziel to our roster for the remainder of the 2021 season,” NCFC Head Coach John Bradford said. “AZ is a dynamic, young player that will provide another attacking option for our group. It’s great to have him here and I think he’ll be able to have an immediate impact. We appreciate the opportunity to work with him and the relationship with Minnesota United.”
Aziel Jackson will be available this Wednesday, August 25 for NCFC’s home match against Forward Madison. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. ET and tickets are available here. The match will also air live on ESPN+.
