North Carolina dropped its latest home game against Charlotte Independence, 1-0, in a game that saw several cards handed out, including a player on each team sent off. North Carolina was able to put pressure on Charlotte after going down a goal, and one player in particular who had success in this regard was Coastal Credit Union Man of the Match, Manny Perez.
Perez was able to give Charlotte’s fullback problems 1v1 and put crosses into the box. In total, Perez put six crosses into the box, which was good for second on the team behind Akeem Ward. He also tied the team-high with two key passes in the final third, as well as completing 86.5% of his passes in the attacking half.
