
CARY, N.C. (June 12, 2017) – North Carolina FC’s Jose Carranza and Capital Area RailHawks Academy members Lucas del Rosario and Manny Perez have rejoined the United States Under-18 Men’s National Team for a team camp and international tournament in Lisbon, Portugal running from June 8-19.
During the 2017 U-18 Lisbon International Tournament, USA will face Japan on June 14, Norway on June 16 and Portugal on June 18. The team with the most points in the four-team group at the end of the tournament will be crowned 2017 champions.
All three club representatives were part of the U18 national team’s previous camp for the 2017 Slovakia Cup in April, which resulted in a runner-up finish for the U18 team.
After appearing in a pre-season friendly against Liga MX side Atlas FC on March 22, Carranza has appeared in two NASL matches this season, playing 35 minutes. The midfielder has been a regular for the U.S. youth national teams and he was one of only 28 players invited to train at the U-18 Men’s National Team 2017 training camp from Jan. 23-30 in Bradenton, Fla.
Both del Rosario and Perez have starred with the Capital Area RailHawks and both have appeared in international friendlies for NCFC. Perez most recently earned minutes against Atlas FC, while both del Rosario and Perez saw action on the field against West Ham United last summer.
Additionally, del Rosario has been with the national team since the U-15 level and Perez has recently joined the national team at the U-18 level. Both players are set to join local collegiate programs in the fall with del Rosario heading to UNC-Chapel Hill and Perez set to join NC State.
