North Carolina FC head coach Colin Clarke is one of 17 coaches selected to participate in the U.S. Soccer Federation’s second edition of the U.S. Soccer Pro Course. Clarke started the year-long coaching education and development program in January, and is the only coach from the North American Soccer League to participate this year.
“It’s a very intense course,” Clarke said. “I am learning a lot and look forward to implement what I have learned to get better as a coach, with our coaching staff and as an organization.”
The seventeen coaches were selected from an application process only open to professional coaches in the United States. Selections were made based on a coach’s body of work, in addition to holding the required prerequisite, the U.S. Soccer A License.
The course includes three collective meetings in Los Angeles in January, two individual club visits from U.S. Soccer coaching educators, and a final presentation.
U.S. Soccer describes the Pro Course as a program designed to raise the level and standard of coaching in the United States at the professional level.
