Cary, NC (April 22, 2020)- The North Carolina Football Club and Larry’s Coffee will release a co-branded coffee blend today titled ‘Possession’. Larry’s Coffee will be donating $1 from each bag of ‘Possession’ sold to the NCFC Youth Financial Aid Fund.
The Fund is available to families facing extraordinary financial circumstances to help fill the gap between what families could afford to pay and required club fees. Last year, NCFC Youth distributed $340,000 to qualifying families.
‘Possession’ will launch virtually today before becoming available in local stores like Whole Foods in the coming months. Other retailers across North Carolina will sell the co-branded coffee later this year, as well. To purchase a bag of coffee online, click here.
“This is one of the most unique opportunities we have pursued with a club partner,” said North Carolina Football Club Chief Revenue Officer, Kyle Prairie. “We have been working with Larry’s Coffee for many months on this project, so we are excited for fans to be able to purchase ‘Possession’ online and eventually in-stores.”
The coffee flavor was voted on by NCFC and NC Courage fans at an event in Moore Square last October and will feature players on each bag. The dark roast blend includes flavors of cocoa, raisins, and walnuts.
"Larry's Coffee is thrilled to partner with NCFC this year and offer our community a brand new way to support this organization,” said Larry Larson, founder of Larry’s Coffee.
The North Carolina FC players featured on the bag include captain Nazmi Albadawi, Dre Fortune, Manny Perez, and DJ Taylor. All four homegrown players grew up playing for NCFC Youth (formerly CASL).
NC Courage players Abby Erceg, Kristen Hamilton, Jessica McDonald, and Denise O’Sullivan will also be featured on the coffee’s labels.
Erceg and Hamilton will be hosting a Coffee Table Chat today, April 22, at 2:00 p.m. ET on the NC Courage Instagram account to discuss the release of the coffee. They will be joined by special guests from the Courage, NCFC, and NCFC Youth. Fans can tune in by following the Courage on Instagram at @thenccourage.
