CARY, N.C. (Feb. 17, 2023) — North Carolina FC took down Carolina Core FC 5-2 in the team’s lone open preseason match ahead of the 2024 USL Championship season on Saturday, Feb. 17 at WakeMed Soccer Park.
North Carolina FC jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead before Carolina Core FC pulled a goal back before the halftime break.
Oalex Anderson and Garrett McLaughlin both found the back of the net on second-chance efforts from set pieces, while Louis Perez put the exclamation point on the early scoring spree from the penalty spot.
Nelson Blanco Flores and Rodrigo Da Costa added to the scoring on either side of a goal for the visitors.
