Rooted in D.C.
Hailing from the suburbs of Washington D.C. and growing up in the D.C. United Academy, Martin began his career as an MLS homegrown signing in 2013. Over three seasons with his hometown club, Martin made 23 appearances across MLS league matches, U.S. Open Cup and CONCACAF Champions League. During that time, Martin also played on loan for then-USL Championship Richmond Kickers, making 12 appearances.
The Old College Try
Prior to beginning his professional career, Martin played one collegiate season for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, where he earned 2012 All-ACC Freshmen Team honors. He helped Wake Forest to an 11-4-5 record, ending in an overtime loss to Coastal Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Martin becomes the second former San Diego Loyal player to join North Carolina FC this offseason, with San Diego halting play after the 2023 campaign. Martin spent the last four seasons with San Diego Loyal SC of the USL Championship. In four seasons with San Diego, Martin made 103 appearances, 91 of which were starts, racking up 7,853 minutes, four goals and five assists.
