CARY, NC (May 8, 2023) – Following an undefeated April, North Carolina FC head coach John Bradford was named USL League One Coach of the Month, as announced by the league.
“This award is a recognition of the work our entire staff and group of players has put in during the month of April,” Bradford said. “All of us know it will take each member of our group to achieve our goals this season and we’re focusing on enjoying the process, each training and game at a time.”
Across five matches in April, NCFC picked up four wins and one draw propelling them to the top of the league table. Headlined by five goals from Rafa Mentzingen, the NCFC attack was unstoppable in April scoring a league-high ten goals and only allowed four. April also saw NCFC pick up its first ever wins over Union Omaha and Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.
“The results in April have been a blend of gutsy road performances and some quality results at home,” Bradford said. “The guys are happy with April, but eager to build on it with new challenges this month and in the future.”
NCFC returns to action at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday, May 13 at 7:00 as they host Forward Madison FC. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+ and tickets can be purchased here.
