The North Carolina FC Youth Academy has wrapped up the first half of the year with a successful Fall season. Entering the mid-year break from regional play, the Academy’s U17 and U19 teams are in playoff contention for the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy Playoffs this summer and the U15 team is just one result away from moving back into a playoff-qualifying position.

The club’s U12-14 squads have reached the mid-season break and will look ahead to the Spring after an extremely successful Fall campaign. Highlighted by a strong showing at the Developmental Academy’s East Conference Boys' Regional Showcase, NCFC’s U13 and U14 teams enjoyed a weekend in the spotlight with college coaches and U.S. Soccer scouts in attendance at BB&T Park in Advance, N.C.
The young NCFC teams held their own against top-level competition from across the East Coast – including several MLS academy teams. Overall, the Academy went 3W-4L-4D in the showcase. The South U14 boys highlighted the weekend by going undefeated and notching wins over FC Westchester Armour U14, Empire United U14 and Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth U14. The team didn’t allow a goal and outscored its competition 11-0 on the weekend.

The Academy’s older sides have also concluded regional play for the Fall season and will now shift their focus to the Winter Showcase. The nationally-regarded event will take place at Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., from Nov. 30-Dec. 11 and feature 76 U17 and 72 U19 Boys' Academy clubs from across the country.
The Academy’s U17 and U19 teams are slated to play three matches each. The U17’s schedule will feature a battle against MLS Academy side New York City FC and the U19’s will meet the San Jose Earthquakes to highlight their schedules. All three matches will be big tests for the squads to measure up against top talent from around the country.
