Legacy Early College
Greenville, South Carolina
CARY, NC (July 8, 2021) – North Carolina FC will continue their stint on the road to face off against Greenville Triumph SC for the third time this season on Saturday, July 10 at 7 p.m. at Legacy Early College in Greenville, South Carolina.
In the last meeting between the two teams, North Carolina FC came up just short of last year’s League One champions, 2-1. Though the result did not go in their favor, it was a night of firsts for the young squad — 17-year-old NCFC Academy product Britton Fischer made his starting lineup debut, Jay Tee Kamara scored his first goal of the season, and seven NCFC Academy players were listed on the 18-man roster. Don Smart and Marios Lomis added a goal apiece for the Triumph. Since NCFC’s last competition with Greenville, veterans Robert Kristo and Nazmi Albadawi have rejoined the lineup, hoping to be difference makers in this weekend’s match.
Last Time Out
In their most recent contest, North Carolina FC drew with Tormenta FC, 0-0, at Erk Russell Park in Statesboro, Georgia. The match saw the return of veteran players Nazmi Albadawi and Robert Kristo, as well as the team debut of newcomer Malyk Hamilton, who joined North Carolina FC from Atlético Ottawa in February of this year. Goalkeeper Damian Las recorded his first clean sheet of the season in the match, seeing the scoreless tie through.
