
Following the Developmental Academy (DA) winter break, The North Carolina FC Youth Academy teams got started on the front foot at home with a resounding 18-point weekend, sweeping six-straight matches over the course of two days at WRAL Soccer Park.
The NCFC U-15, U-17 and U-19 teams went a combined 6-0-0 over their counterparts from Boca United FC and Orlando City SC while outscoring the visitors by a combined 26-7 margin. The wins vaulted each team higher up in the DA standings, and all three teams enter the weekend in a playoff-qualifying position.
The Academy officially started its spring season on Jan. 27, as the U-15 and U-17 squads visited Florida. NCFC U-17 played to a 1-1 draw with Armada FC U-17 and the U15 squad rebounded with an impressive 3-0 victory over TBU Rowdies’ U-15 after falling 2-1 to Armada FC U-15 during the opening match.
The NCFC Youth Academy will continue its season this weekend as the teams make visits to face the Carolina Rapids in Cornelius, N.C., the NC Fusion in Greensboro, N.C., Lanier Soccer Association in Gainesville, Ga., and AFC Lightning in Tyrone, Ga.
