After spending the 2010 season with NCFC, Shipalane returned to his native South Africa for one season to play for the University of Pretoria. in 2015, Shipalane logged 2,335 minutes in 28 appearances. The dynamic midfielder scored seven goals and added nine assists, positioning him on top of the NASL assists table. Last season, Shipalane played 2,251 minutes in 26 starts for NCFC while also adding 3 goals and 3 assists.
Shipalane moved to the U.S. to play college soccer at Lindsey Wilson College, where he was the 2006 NAIA Region XI Player of the Year and a three-time All-American. He began his professional career with the Harrisburg City Islanders and made his professional debut on April 18, 2009 against the Richmond Kickers. After 18 appearances and six goals for the Islanders in the 2009 season, Shipalane spent one season in MLS’s D.C. United. After a brief stint with former USL team, Harrisburg City Islanders, Shipalane first signed with the Carolina RailHawks in 2010.
